VENTRILO 3.0
As you may or may not be aware, Flagship Industries is rolling out a whole new version to the popular product Ventrilo. They are releasing version 3.0 of the product today to the public and have the new client versions available for download on their site.

TacticallySound.com, as a licensed Ventrilo Host Provider, is required to perform this upgrade to remain in good standing with Flagship Industries. We’ll be upgrading all the Ventrilo servers beginning at 9AM on Friday, November 16th 2007.

While this upgrade is performed, your server will be unavailable for use. Once the upgrade is complete, you will no longer be able to connect to your server with the old (2.3) clients and will have to start using the new 3.0 client.

FAQ’s:
Q: I don’t like 3.0, can I downgrade back to 2.3?
A: No, per our license agreement with Flagship Industries (the people that make Ventrilo), all professional host providers are _required_ to host version 3.0 and _cannot legally_ host 2.3.

Q: Some of my friends’ servers are already 3.0. Can I run both 2.3 and 3.0 at the same time?
A: Yes. Before you upgrade to 3.0, copy the program folder to something like Ventrilo2. Create a new shortcut on your desktop pointing to the Ventrilo.exe file in the Ventrilo2 folder and label that shortcut something like “Ventrilo 2.3”. Then proceed to upgrade to 3.0. Now you will have 2 versions of Ventrilo installed on your computer (one in the Ventrilo program folder, the other in Ventrilo2 folder). Use the appropriate shortcut for the appropriate version server.

Q: Can I get my server upgraded before Friday.
A: Yes. Simply submit a trouble ticket requesting the upgrade.

Ventrilo adds support for Mac's...For more information check out the Mac status page. Flagship Industries has released the latest Mac client: Version 2.3.2.Prototype.9. Head on over to the Ventrilo download page to pick it up. All our servers support the Mac client, but you will need to run a Speex codec to allow them to connect. You can run any codec available to Ventrilo and change change it any time by logging into your Ventrilo control panel.
